The ability to create a word processing document that includes spreadsheet tables and charts is very useful for  future science students.  Students will be conducting some market research using M&Ms and then producing a report that includes spreadsheet tables and charts showing their observations.

Steps 1-3 of the project involve setting up the report, making predictions, and collecting data.  Steps 4 and 5 include creating the spreadsheet table and graphs, and copying them into your Word document report.  In this project students will also be introduced to adding formulas that will total the numbers in a column and will figure an average.  Below are links to videos explaining how to do those steps.
