Creating a Public Service Announcement
Goal:
Public Service Announcements (PSAs) are short messages produced on film, videotape, DVD, CD, audiotape, or as a computer file. PSAs are created to persuade an audience to take a favorable action. PSAs can create awareness, show the importance of a problem or issue, convey information, or promote a behavioral change. Your task is to create a 30 second Public Service Announcement.
Procedure:
1. Choose a topic—What is the point to want to make or the message you want to share with your viewer? (See Guidelines) KCP&L currently has an electrical safety video contest that might provide a good way to share your video with the public and potentially win a very nice prize.
2. Research it
3. Script it (use script template)
4. Produce it
5. Share it
